CTMH REGIONAL CELEBRATION

So I just got back from the Minneapolis, MN Close To My Heart Regional Celebration. I can't begin to explain how excited I am to "work" for such an amazing company! Believe me I use the word "work" very loosely. It's so much more like play! How lucky am I to have a part time 'job' that for my 'job' ... I party!!! I met so many fun, amazing, beautiful, creative, awesome women & learned so much from each and everyone of them. Plus my highlight of the weekend...I actually go to get my pic taken w/ Jeanette! The CEO of CTMH. (picture w/b posted later) She's unforgettable! Super nice & HILARIOUS!! Wish she would have shared a few more secrets with us though *wink wink* The classes were fun & I really learned a lot of stuff that I can't wait to get started on. The crafts were really cute, though I can not believe how fast those ladies move when they teach us a project! No room to breath thats for sure!! Though to their credit, teaching 330 women how to do a craft project has got to be an extremely daunting challenge! Overall, I'm just so excited to see where this will take me... HOPEFULLY ON THE EPIC SHIP FOR OUR CRUISE IN 2011!!... WHO WANTS TO JOIN ME???

Explosion Box Instructions

**Please feel free to link to this post from any media, Copy any images as needed, all I ask is that you give me credit for anything used**

Tools Needed:
4 Card Stock (12x12) preferably 3 of 1 color (inside of the box) & the 4th of a coordinating color (Lid).
Adhesive
Trimmer
Scissors
One of the Following: Scor-Pal, Bone Folder, or Dry Embossing Tool
Optional: Sponge, Corner Rounder

Set Aside the 4th Cardstock (CS) this will be the Lid to the box.
With all three remaining CS, Score at 4” & 8”, rotate the paper & repeat.
This will leave 9-4”x4” boxes, scored onto the paper.

**If you prefer to have the entire inside pages of CS without the four corners, skip the following step & cut out the four corners of the first CS instead of scoring the corners.
Set aside 2 of the scored CS for the moment.
The remaining CS will be the bottom of the box.
Fold the four corner squares diagonally. Do not fold the center square as this will be seen from the outside of the box.

Each of the four corners will look like the following.

With the remaining 2 pages of CS (excluding the lid) cut the four corners off.
With one of the CS, trim the four tabs 1/8” on each side.
With the last CS, trim the four tabs at 3/16” on each side.
***Do not cut trim all the way to the center square, Leave the center square at 4”x4”*

Set aside the three inner CS pages & now we’ll work on the lid.
Fold the CS diagonally.

Open the CS & fold diagonally the opposite direction, creating a scored X.
Fold each of the four corners into the center of the CS.

Fold the bottom of the new square, into the center line.
Fold the top to the center line as well.

Unfold the last two folds, rotate the paper & repeat the last two folds.

Unfold the entire paper, & trim; 4- 4” cuts to the center square.

With the two straight tabs pointing to the left & right (Rotate paper from above view)
Fold the bottom corner into the center of the paper.

Bring the bottom of the fold up to form the first rim of the lid

Bring the outside flaps of the rim inside, forming a U shape.

Rotate paper and repeat with the top corner of the lid.

Place adhesive on the inside of remaining tabs & fold over rims.

Your Explosion Box construction is now complete. The 3 original CS will fold up and fit inside the Lid.

**The paper clips are to hold in place for the picture**

Now you can decorate your Explosion Box as desired.

Here are a few pictures of how I decorated mine.

***A few tips: Do not adhere any of the pages together until they are completely decorated & ready for pictures. Sponging the edges of the CS gives it that extra little POP you may be looking for. Remember to leave space for journaling Remember you will be putting pictures on the majority of the pages so don’t over embellish where a picture may cover it up.

Explosion Box Instructions

Hey Karen I will email you instructions for mine as well, but thought I would post an amazing link for Explosion Box instructions:

She uses smaller papers & does the cover slightly different, but she has great instructions & gives you another alternative.
